Hello, I’m Harish Monga, a Certified Exit Planning Advisor (CEPA), Real Estate Broker and Loan Consultant from the SF Bay area. I aim to help people find true meaning and purpose in their lives – by discovering their own Ikigai (which is a famous Japanese philosophy “Reason to get up every day”).
When the recession hit in 2002, I lost my job which led me to struggle for nine months to provide for my family – my wife and two kids, leading to skyrocketing credit card bills and eventual bankruptcy in 2012. During this time, I did consulting and full-time gigs intermittently with companies such as Accenture, Wells Fargo, Juniper Networks, Stubhub (eBay), and Callidus Cloud. However, corporate politics and the burnout rate were overwhelming.
That’s when I realized enough was enough! Life is meant to be more than just looking for jobs and pleasing corporate bosses. I decided to have better financial freedom and control over my time, and got a Real Estate Broker License in 2011. I worked as a part-time realtor along with some IT assignments, until I became a full-time realtor in 2017 and now my focus is on expanding my business.
Now, I love having my own schedule! I can go on vacation anytime without asking for vacation time off. I walk with my dog every day without any stress of management. In my free time, I mentor people, guide investors, and professionals alike, and earn more money than I ever did in IT. I learned valuable life lessons during my lowest phase and I resonate with the philosophy that “Life is too short to live someone else’s dream.” I believe one should work on their own dream to achieve their true purpose in life.
